Editorial policy
Everyday Knowledge aims to make familiar subjects clearer without making them sound more certain or simple than they are. We value accurate wording, relevant context and the freedom to correct the record when a piece falls short.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable material available to the editorial team and take care with definitions, dates and explanations. A short article may leave out detail, but it should not hide a qualification that changes the meaning. Where a subject is disputed or varies by context, we say so rather than imply a single universal answer.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage. Paid, sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee inclusion, endorsement or a particular conclusion.
Corrections and illustrations
If you spot a factual or wording error, use the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and update material when warranted. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; illustrative images are not evidence, and we aim not to present them as documentary photographs.
Curiosity belongs in an ordinary day.
We look for the explanation behind the familiar, then make room for its context, caveats and small surprises.
